LEGO 10325 Alpine Lodge has an odd castle connection

2023’s LEGO Winter Village Collection set – 10325 Alpine Lodge – shares an odd connection with the colossal 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle.

10325 Alpine Lodge may not seem to connect to 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle at first, but a strange piece of art on the first floor of the lodge has revealed otherwise.

As spotted in early reviews, a sticker representing a painting or photo of a farmer and a cow pulling a trailer in a guest room in the lodge might not be recognisable at first glance. However, it turns out that this is a strange Easter egg to 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle, matching the minifigure and model almost identically.

There’s little doubt that this is a reference to the biggest LEGO Castle set ever, even matching the farmer’s headgear which appears in only a few other sets, less of which have a cow. However, it’s not clear why 10325 Alpine Lodge is referencing 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle as the two don’t appear to share designers or any other obvious similarities.

There may be no connection between the two, other than them being in the same theme but in any case, 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle is available now and 10325 Alpine Lodge launches on October 1 for LEGO Insiders, and October 4 for everyone else, for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
