LEGO 2025 rumour teases long overdue Harry Potter and Marvel characters

Two long-overdue LEGO Harry Potter and LEGO Marvel characters may be on the way in 2025, including one of the biggest omissions from 76269 Avengers Tower.

Reliable rumour source maxbautde has been answering questions on 2025 sets in his Instagram stories, and alongside details on next year’s LEGO Star Wars line-up he’s teased a couple of new additions to the LEGO Harry Potter and LEGO Marvel themes. First up for Wizarding World fans is a picture of an inflated Aunt Marge from the opening scenes of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

That suggests we could be looking at a new Privet Drive set in 2025. The last minifigure-scale build of the Dursleys’ home launched in 2020 and retired at the end of 2023, and was based on the Chamber of Secrets, so a new version that takes inspiration from the third movie in the franchise would be a logical successor (especially with the Ford Anglia already on shelves separately).

A new iteration of the Knight Bus is reportedly driving into stores in January too, so a 4 Privet Drive set that features a large Aunt Marge figure would complete the early Prisoner of Azkaban sequence while also delivering our first-ever LEGO Marge Dursley. This is only speculation based on a single tease from Max, of course, so don’t put too much stock into it for now.

Likewise his LEGO Marvel tease, but again the choice of image feels deliberate. Responding to a follower asking around the summer LEGO Star Wars and Marvel 2025 waves, Max said: “Star Wars fans are eating good next summer. Marvel gets some fine sets as well.” That caption was emblazoned over an image of Quicksilver from Avengers: Age of Ultron, as portrayed by Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Quicksilver is a particularly tricky LEGO Marvel character to collect at the moment, having only shown up in one set back in 2015. There have been plenty of opportunities for him to return, not least in the all-encompassing 76269 Avengers Tower, but the LEGO Group has passed them all up – to the point that the 2015 minifigure now fetches an average of £50 new on BrickLink.

Max’s story suggests a new Quicksilver minifigure could indeed be on the way in 2025, but in what capacity it’s impossible to say right now. In the meantime, head here to check out the full LEGO Harry Potter and Marvel 2025 slates as things stand – but remember to take all rumoured LEGO sets with the customary grain of salt until officially confirmed by the LEGO Group.
