LEGO 2K Drive teases Fast & Furious content for Drive Pass Season 1

It looks like the Fast & Furious franchise will be freewheeling its way into LEGO 2K Drive very soon, as the open-world racer revs up for its first season of bonus content.

2K Games has debuted a teaser video for Drive Pass Season 1, which shows off the LEGO Speed Champions set 76912 Fast & Furious 1970 Dodge Charger R/T in-game – accompanied by the text ‘Feelin’ fast?’ in the classic Fast & Furious typeface. No prizes for guessing what the focus of this first season is going to be, then.

The Drive Pass is LEGO 2K Drive’s take on a traditional battle pass or season pass, which you’ve probably encountered in video games like Fortnite, Rocket League, Call of Duty and so on. Each of the game’s four planned seasons will feature ‘premium rewards’, such as vehicles, drivers, stickers, sounds, brick packs and more.

According to the teaser, the first season will drop on June 28. We already know that Season 2 will follow in the autumn, Season 3 will debut this winter, and Season 4 will arrive in spring 2024. LEGO 2K Drive breaks from its contemporaries, however, in that there are no time limits on these seasons: you can pick up and play them at your own pace.

That means even if you grab the Year 1 Drive Pass six or 12 months from now, you won’t miss out on any content. Instead, you’ll retroactively unlock all the premium rewards linked to your current level.

Whether more seasons will follow in a second year of additional content remains to be confirmed, but chances are it will hinge on the performance of the first year. And remember: if you’ve purchased the Awesome Edition or Awesome Rivals Edition of LEGO 2K Drive, you’ll already have access to the Year 1 Drive Pass as part of that package.

LEGO 2K Drive is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, Nintendo Switch and PC. Click here to check out our review of 2K Games’ first AAA LEGO title.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
