LEGO 2K Drive trophies and achievements revealed

2K Games has published the full list of trophies and achievements for LEGO 2K Drive ahead of the game’s release next week, and it looks pretty daunting for completists.

LEGO video games are traditionally known for having simple (if laborious) trophy lists: all you typically need to do is reach 100% completion, and you’ll unlock everything else as you go along. Collecting every character, minikit and gold brick can require upwards of 40 hours in some games – more in the mammoth LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – but if you have the time, that platinum trophy is always in reach.

Unlocking LEGO 2K Drive’s platinum trophy, however, might not be quite so straightforward. Most of the trophies (or achievements, if you’re playing on Xbox) will be obtained simply by playing the game: collect 50 new vehicles, destroy 1,000 objects, drive 3,000 miles and so on. And true to LEGO form, you’re going to need to see everything the game has to offer to collect Folk Hero, which requires completing every single quest in Story mode.

Things might get a bit more frustrating with Crystal Clear, for which you’ll need to mow down every single weed patch in the world. That sounds like a full-time job to us, although again it’s maybe more a question of time and persistence (fingers crossed there’s a map to highlight the patches you haven’t mown down yet). But then there’s Missile Misser, which tasks players with avoiding 50 missiles by jumping over them in races. Fifty!

Maybe jumping over missiles will be easier than we’re anticipating, but even if the timing window is generous, you still need to rely on other players actually firing missiles at you. Who knows how often that will happen? There’s also a gold trophy for spinning 1,080 degrees in the air without a jetpack, and the colour of that reward suggests it’ll be no mean feat.

If you can tackle those few trophies, though – or they turn out to be relatively easy – it should be smooth sailing for the rest of LEGO 2K Drive. As long as you’re prepared to put the time in to drive 6,000 miles and destroy 15,000 objects, of course.

One more thing: we’re definitely on board for any trophy list that asks you to punt something. (Especially 200 pedestrians.)

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
