LEGO 40589 Pirate Ship Playground and bonus GWP available now online

Two gifts-with-purchase have just gone live at LEGO.com, including this year’s brand new 40589 Pirate Ship Playground – and a returning freebie from 2022.

Available with all purchases above £95 / $100 / €100 until June 3, 40589 Pirate Ship Playground includes a pirate ship slide, rotating octopus, palm tree, treasure chest and two kid minifigures, building on last year’s 40529 Children’s Amusement Park. And because the LEGO Group loves a bit of synergy, that gift-with-purchase is also available once more in the UK and Europe with spends over £130 / €150.

With 170 pieces in the box, 40529 Children’s Amusement Park likewise includes two child minifigures, this time entertaining themselves with a banana boat swing ride, test-your-strength machine and duck ring toss game. Buying at least £130 / €150 of LEGO in the UK and Europe will net you both that set and 40589 Pirate Ship Playground in one fell swoop.

Both sets are available from today through June 3, which means they’ll also cross over with all the brand new LEGO sets launching at the beginning of next month (if stock holds out). If you’re in the US, you’ll also receive 40606 Spring Fun VIP Add-On Pack with orders above $50, so spending enough to acquire 40589 Pirate Ship Playground will see the goodie bag of elements automatically added to your basket.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
