LEGO 40590 Houses of the World 2 officially revealed

The second of four LEGO Houses of the World sets has popped up online, giving us our first clear look at the gift-with-purchase and its contents.

Presumably available with qualifying purchases in April (given the timing of this reveal), 40590 Houses of the World 2 is inspired by homes in North Africa, and follows January’s 40583 Houses of the World 1. A tiny image of the 270-piece set emerged through the LEGO Group’s certification portal yesterday, and the full product listing has now been published online.

Designed once again to ‘celebrate world architecture’, the second set in a four-part series – the other two sets are already confirmed to be numbered 40594 and 40599 – follows its predecessor in style and format. That means a detailed microscale building, complete with interior, which apes the modular buildings through a removable top floor.

There’s no word yet on when exactly 40590 Houses of the World 2 will be available, nor how much we’ll need to spend to get our hands on it, but LEGO.com specifies it’s definitely a gift-with-purchase, valued at £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99. 40583 Houses of the World 1 required an eye-watering spend of £220 / $250 / €250, so we’re likely looking at something similar here.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
