Off the back of 40680 Flower Store, 40684 Fruit Store and 40692 Candy Store comes a fourth and possibly final microscale building gift-with-purchase, 40696 Bakery. This GWP is available at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores exclusively to LEGO Insiders with purchases of £180 / $200 / €200 or more, from October 15 to 25, or while stocks last.

If you picked up any of the three others in this series then you’ll know exactly what to expect here – a small, themed shopfront and interior complete with little nods and details to an overall theme, and in this case, a bakery.

There are some clever techniques to achieve some of the effects at play here, but ultimately this is a one-and-done set to build, display and let gather dust. If you’ve got a collection of these to complete then picking this up will just further the LEGO habit, but generally speaking for other LEGO fans the last few years have given us a plethora of much more interesting and engaging GWPs, so we’d understand if you skip this one.
