LEGO NINJAGO 40703 Micro NINJAGO City revealed
A brand new LEGO NINJAGO City set has turned up on store shelves in China, shrinking the original model down to microscale in the first of a four-part series.
40703 Micro NINJAGO City is a tiny take on 2017’s 70620 NINJAGO City, the first building in a series that has since expanded to include 70657 NINJAGO City Docks, 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens and 71799 NINJAGO City Markets. All four of those sets will be transformed into microscale in a series of exclusive sets, as confirmed by images shared by Instagram user Dylan Chow (and republished by Ashnflash).
Chow claims to have found 40703 Micro NINJAGO City on shelves in China, though has not yet revealed whether it’s available to buy individually or is a gift-with-purchase. Products numbered 40XXX can really go either way – but we wouldn’t be surprised to see this one materialise as a GWP, succeeding last year’s Houses of the World as a new four-part series of free gifts to collect throughout 2024.
Based on the image of the back of the box, we can assume the following will all release at some stage this year: 40703 Micro NINJAGO City, 40704 Micro NINJAGO City Docks, 40705 Micro NINJAGO City Gardens and 40706 Micro NINJAGO City Markets. The entire quartet represents the sum total of the NINJAGO City modular building line-up so far, but whether it will put a neat bow on the series altogether – or whether future buildings will still follow – remains to be seen.
