LEGO 40707 Year of the Snake should slither into baskets tomorrow

The next LEGO gift-with-purchase has launched in Australia, potentially offering a preview for the rest of the world’s offerings tomorrow.

Following its reveal at the end of 2024, 40707 Year of the Snake is now being given away with purchases of $115 or more in Australia until January 19. The annual zodiac animal gifts-with-purchase are usually offered in January and the snake model will likely be available worldwide starting tomorrow.

It’s currently not confirmed that the 174-piece build will be available with qualifying purchases tomorrow, or what the threshold will be but Australia’s major deals tend to align with other regions.

40707 Year of the Snake depicts the titular animal as a removable sculpture on a decorative base and there are included envelopes to symbolize good wishes and luck for the new year ahead. 40611 Year of the Dragon was available this time last year with orders of £75 / $85 / €85 and this may be an indicator of the threshold for 40707 Year of the Snake.

The recent January 2025 sets should be useful for qualifying for a free 40707 Year of the Snake, as long as it launches tomorrow as expected. The free Toucan polybag should remain available until January 13 or while stocks last too.
