LEGO Space 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad available now for LEGO Insiders
LEGO Space 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad is available now with qualifying orders exclusively for LEGO Insiders, complete with two new space baby minifigures.
Available with all orders above £180 / $200 / €200 for LEGO Insiders only until February 18, and then for everyone else from February 19 to 25 (or while stocks last), 40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad is a celebration of multiple LEGO Classic Space sets in one box. It specifically tips its hat to 483 Alpha Rocket Base, 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport and 6803 Space Patrol, all released between 1978 and 1983.
Bundled in with the 325-piece set are two tiny astronaut minifigures, which reuse the same elements from 71037 Series 24’s Spacebaby accessory. The LEGO Group is divided on whether or not these are actually space babies, though: the product listing refers to them as ‘micro space characters’, but the Offers & Sale page at LEGO.com calls them ‘space baby minifigures’.
Either way, they swap out the cute print of the Collectible Minifigures character for a classic smiley face – another nod to the original LEGO Space sets – and debut the body element and head/airtank piece in white for the first time. Also included in the freebie are four mini-models: a rocket launchpad, space station, rocket transport and spaceship.
40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad has dropped just ahead of the all the new March 1 releases, but the good news is that there’s plenty available to pre-order now – and pre-orders qualify for gifts-with-purchase, too. Consider adding a small keychain to your order so that the freebie ships first, just in case the LEGO Group doesn’t hold stock for pre-orders (it’s been known to happen).
40712 Micro Rocket Launchpad is available with all purchases above £180 / $200 / €200 until February 18 for LEGO Insiders. If stock holds out, it will be available to everyone from February 19 to 25.
