LEGO 43222 Disney Castle rumoured to recreate old set

The rumoured LEGO 43222 Disney Castle is now reported to be a remake of 71040 The Disney Castle but with a few notable additions.

Brick_clicker on Instagram reports that the previously rumoured 43222 Disney Castle will be a remake of 71040 The Disney Castle, though to what extent is not said. The rumour also notes that it could add several features not seen in the now-retired Disney build.

71040 The Disney Castle stayed on shelves for longer than most other LEGO sets before eventually retiring at the end of 2022. Now, it could return in the form of 43222 Disney Castle with brick-built fireworks and heavy gold accents according to the report.

Since 71040 The Disney Castle was designed, the Magic Kingdom icon has been repainted with a lighter blue and pink colour scheme as well as gold. However, the rumour does not state whether or not this could affect the reported model.

The final part of the report is that the rumoured set will cost $400 and launch on July 1, of which the release date is new information for the rumour. The LEGO Group has not confirmed this report at the time of writing and all information should be taken with caution.

12 minifigures are reportedly featuring in the rumoured 43222 Disney Castle, but we’ll likely know more and whether the set exists in time.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
