LEGO Disney 43247 Young Simba the Lion King price confirmed, pre-orders open now

LEGO Disney 43247 Young Simba the Lion King is now available to pre-order on LEGO.com ahead of its release this summer, confirming its international price and availability.

The 1,445-piece 18+ rendition of Simba was first unveiled by a Portugese retailer earlier this week, but it’s now listed on LEGO.com too, confirming its price and release date in other regions. 43247 Young Simba the Lion King will arrive in LEGO Stores worldwide on June 1 – there’s no staggered release for this one – for £114.99 in the UK, $129.99 in the US and €129.99 in Europe.

You can pre-order your copy in all three of those territories right now, and in doing so you’ll qualify for the current LEGO gift-with-purchase 40687 Alien Space Diner. The LEGO Group has yet to confirm which free gifts will be available in June (if any), so this might be your best to take advantage of a bonus set on the June launches.

43247 Young Simba the Lion King is the second LEGO Disney set based on the iconic animated character to debut in June. 43243 Simba the Lion King Cub will launch the same day, offering a much cheaper (and therefore less detailed) version of Simba for those without the space or budget for its bigger sibling.

Both sets arrive in time to celebrate The Lion King’s 30th anniversary, and the LEGO Group’s product description specifically suggests buying them both so younger and older fans can build simultaneously. It’s a neat idea and one that could easily be adapted for themes like LEGO Star Wars or Marvel, which both feature large and small versions of the same subject matter.

The larger Simba here is built in what the LEGO Group calls a ‘classic pose’, and features an articulated head. Head over to LEGO.com to pre-order your copy of LEGO Disney 43247 Young Simba the Lion King now.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
