LEGO 4999 Vestas Wind Turbine may get a Creator Expert re-release

Rumour has it that LEGO 4999 Vestas Wind Turbine may be re-released to celebrate the launch of ‘plants from plants’ elements.

The LEGO Group recently announced the launch of the first elements made from sustainable materials, botanical pieces made from plastic manufactured from sugarcane. To showcase these new pieces, Brick Fanatics has received information suggesting that the Vestas Wind Turbine may be making a come-back in the Creator Expert line. The set was originally a limited release in 2008 with product number 4999, with the new edition expected before the end of the year.

With wind energy a sustainable energy source, it would make sense for this to be a showcase set in which the new sustainable elements could be promoted. If this follows the way that 10256 Taj Mahal was re-released, there will only be subtle changes from the original version. It is of course possible that, like 75192 Millennium Falcon, the set could be a significant redesign.

Another new LEGO Creator Expert was recently rumoured, with 10267 Free Fall Tower expected to arrive in the theme next year.

The latest LEGO Creator Expert motorised marvel, LEGO Creator Expert 10261 Roller Coaster, is available now from shop.LEGO.com.
