LEGO hit £500m in sales for the first time in the UK in 2024
The LEGO Group has published its financials for the UK for the most recent financial year, marking a big milestone for the British company arm.
Although the LEGO Group has already shared its global financial headlines for 2024, a more detailed breakdown for the UK arm of the toy company has now been published via Companies House. The filing shows that UK sales exceeded £500m in turnover for the very first time in 2024, as the company reported a £35m profit after tax. This came after 2024 saw a 12% increase in turnover from 2023.
The global turnover and profits are typically only reported in terms of percentage increases and decreases, so this report offers more specific insights. For example, it’s noted that the £35m profit follows on from a loss of £4.5m in 2023, due to now-resolved income tax payments.
In a statement at the beginning of the filing, the directors of the LEGO Group UK are ‘satisfied’ with the 2024 financial performance. Looking ahead to 2025, the directors are focused on ‘single-digit revenue growth’ and plans ‘to invest in initiatives which address evolving trends and are designed to deliver growth long-term’, in line with global LEGO Group goals.
The opening introduction also notes that the LEGO Group’s success in the UK comes amid ‘economic challenges such as toy market decline and inflation’ that affect the wider market.
