This LEGO 71038 Disney 100 minifigure isn’t quite right

The world of LEGO misprints is always an adventure leading to some interesting mistakes, and that now includes 71038 Disney 100’s Pinocchio.

Released to celebrate 100 years of Disney, 71038 Disney 100 has 18 unique minifigures to collect with some characters never before represented in minifigure form. Pinocchio is one of these minifigures and comes with a unique head featuring his iconic nose. This has been revealed to have been a complicated issue during development, but the team finally landed on a design that works as a minifigure.

However, that’s not quite the case for _Balrog_of_Morgoth_‘s Pinocchio with a rare misprint having the face on the side of the head, leading to the nose protruding from the side. It’s almost like it’s some strange growth that the wooden boy might want to have checked.

The gap left by the nose on his face also serves to reveal just how far the eyes are placed from their usual position compared to standard minifigures and suffice it to say, it doesn’t look quite right.

As much as the Reddit user can request a new Pinocchio minifigure or head from the LEGO Group’s customer service, they may want to keep their hands on the misprint as it seems likely to fetch a high price.

71038 Disney 100 is out now with 18 characters to collect for £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 per blind bag.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
