LEGO 71040 The Disney Castle sells out yet again online

You can’t visit actual Disneyland at the moment, but now even the LEGO version is off-limits, as 71040 The Disney Castle has once again sold out online.

As the 2016 set inches ever-closer to a presumed retirement date (seriously, this is a really long time for a LEGO set to be on shelves), the LEGO Group is still struggling to keep up with demand – so it’s probably in the company’s interests to keep it around for at least a little while longer, which is good news if you haven’t yet picked up this glorious ode to Mickey and the gang.

You don’t need to while your days away wearing out your F5 key, though. We’ll do that for you (and we’ve gone through several keyboards already) with our stock alerts. Just pop in your contact details and we’ll be in touch when 71040 The Disney Castle is back in stock and available to buy, whether you’re in the US or UK.

Incidentally, the biggest Disney set to date is actually available to order stateside – it’s only unlucky UK fans who can’t currently get their hands on the 4,080-piece set via LEGO.com. (First Brexit, now this?)

71040 The Disney Castle’s departure from the official online store’s inventory means it must also temporarily depart Brick Fanatics’ Top 20 LEGO Sets List, where it previously held second place. That spot is now filled by the remarkable Harry Potter set 75978 Diagon Alley, while 10273 Haunted House comes back in at the bottom end.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
