LEGO 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars revealed
The May 2025 LEGO Collectible Minifigures series is officially confirmed as 71049 F1 Collectible Race Cars, deviating from the norm with brick-built Formula 1 cars.
Tying into the LEGO Group’s wider partnership with Formula 1 in 2025 – which also encompasses Technic, Icons, Speed Champions, City and DUPLO – these blind-boxed race cars channel classic LEGO Racers sets, with small buildable cars topped with minifigure heads and helmets. They’re the new style of helmet also seen in the LEGO Speed Champions Formula 1 2025 sets.
There are 12 cars to collect in total, with all 10 teams represented alongside a generic Formula 1 car and what appears to be an F1 Academy car, tied to the motorsport’s all-female, junior-level championship series. This is a radical departure from the minifigures of previous series, and the clue is in the name: the LEGO Group isn’t branding these as Collectible Minifigures, but simply ‘Collectibles’.

Each one apparently includes 29 pieces, so you’re probably looking at identical builds but different colour schemes and prints. And they’re due to fall in line with traditional Collectible Minifigure pricing at £3.49 / $4.99 / €3.99 per blind box when they arrive on shelves on May 1, 2025.
There’s no word yet on whether these boxes will continue to carry scannable codes, as per all three 2024 series of Collectible Minifigures, but the odds seem good. If that is the case, you’ll be able to pick out only your favourite teams (or collect one of each) by scanning the boxes using Brick Search Plus’s new and improved minifigure scanner.
