LEGO Star Wars 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer revealed

An online retailer has published images of a LEGO Star Wars August 2024 set, giving us our first glimpse at 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer – and its 25th-anniversary minifigure.

Once rumoured to be a Death Star Conference Room, and then a Death Star playset to rival last year’s 75365 Yavin 4 Rebel Base, this 1,555-piece set has instead materialised as 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer (via Lucky Bricks). It’s the first playset interpretation of this capital ship since 2014, and the third in total. The first one arrived on shelves in 2006 with 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer.

Like its predecessors, 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer mashes together two different scales to offer a detailed, display-worthy exterior with a playable, minifigure-scale interior. You’ll find seven characters in the box, including Darth Vader, an Imperial Crew Member, an Imperial Gunner, an Imperial Navy Trooper, a Stormtrooper, and two named characters making their LEGO Star Wars debut: Commander Praji and Cal Kestis.

The latter is the fourth LEGO Star Wars 25th anniversary minifigure to be officially revealed, and joins Saw Gerrera, ARC Trooper Fives and Darth Malak in the ranks of obscure bonus characters arriving on shelves in 2024. Pulled straight from Respawn’s Jedi video game series, Cal includes his basic blue lightsaber – but not the poncho many of us were hoping to see.

You’ll be able to open the top panels of 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer to access its interior (mimicking the approach of previous LEGO Star Wars capital ships at this scale), and it looks like the LEGO Group has tried to cram as much as possible into that relatively cramped space – including terminals, a command bridge, weapon racks and more.

75394 Imperial Star Destroyer is due to retail for €169.99 in Europe (so perhaps £149.99 in the UK and $169.99 in the US), and will be available from August 1, 2024. We’ll hopefully get confirmation of the set’s international pricing from LEGO.com very soon.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.

finally, a good playset for the empire this year.
id say with the current pricing of lego this seems to be pretty well done. lots of space inside for figs, and looks good on the outside.
Definitely will pick up 3 for the iconic scene remakes.
