LEGO Jurassic Park 76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex officially revealed
The LEGO Group has officially revealed its biggest LEGO Jurassic Park and Jurassic World set to date, the imposing and impressive 76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex.
Weighing in at 3,145 pieces – or 25 more than 2019’s 75936 Jurassic Park: T. rex Rampage – this formidable box of LEGO bones will be available to buy from March 12 for LEGO Insiders (or March 15 for everyone else) for £219.99 / $249.99 / €249.99. It measures a staggering 105cm long from tip to tail and stands 33cm tall, so looks likely to not only be a challenge to build (check out all that tan and dark tan) but also a challenge to display.
It seems like that maximum length will be slightly adjustable, though, as the skeleton includes plenty of articulation across its head, jaw, arms and tail. The entire structure is supported by a black display stand with what appears to be a printed informational plaque (note the Jurassic Park rather than Jurassic World logo), while there are also hidden Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the build.

76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex is decidedly not minifigure scale, but like its Ultimate Collector Series counterparts under the LEGO Star Wars umbrella, includes two exclusive minifigures of Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Sattler in their outfits from the beginning of the first Jurassic Park movie.
This is also the largest dinosaur fossil to date, but eagle-eyed collectors will note that it builds quite literally on 2024’s 76964 Dinosaur Fossils: T. rex Skull, effectively recreating that set with minimal changes and adding on the rest of the skeleton. Whether the LEGO Group will take the same approach to this year’s 76969 Dinosaur Fossils: Triceratops Skull remains to be seen, but it certainly makes sense to start this larger collection with the most iconic dino of them all.
76968 Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex debuts March 12 for LEGO Insiders (and March 15 for everyone else) at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores. The 18+ set includes 3,145 pieces and will retail for £219.99 in the UK, $249.99 in the US and €249.99 in Europe.
