LEGO Technic AR app showcases 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP’s best feature

The AR experience for LEGO Technic 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP is available, showcasing an incredible part of the model that is otherwise obscured.

The LEGO Technic AR app, available for free on compatible devices, has been updated for August 2023 to add 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP and resolved an unfortunate aspect of the model that we mentioned in our review

After a lengthy initial build, the instructions for 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP request that you hide the mechanical core of the model inside the build and completely hide it from view.

While this may not be an issue for some – just an accurate part of the experience – we felt that it was a shame that we could no longer appreciate the interior mechanisms without taking apart a considerable chunk of the model.

However, by selecting and scanning the motorcycle model in the app, an X-Ray view of the build can be appreciated with the option to select individual parts of the mechanisms and learn more about their real-life equivalents.

It’s one of a few options in the free AR experience which also includes a convincing speed simulator through neon-lit streets. For those who own 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP, it’s worth downloading the app and trying out the experience for yourself, especially to see the finer details without taking the set apart.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
