LEGO Art embraces non-mosaic models with 31206 The Rolling Stones today

LEGO Art expands its boundaries beyond just mosaics today, June 1, 2022, with the launch of 31206 The Rolling Stones on the official online store.

Including 1,998 pieces, the latest LEGO Art model pays homage to the classic band of the same name by offering a build recreating their logo in a style that enthusiasts of the theme won’t be familiar with. 

31206 The Rolling Stone eschews the usual mosaic format in favour of a 2D depiction of the logo using tiles and plates, the border of the artwork wrapped around the shape of the lips and tongue. 

This new style of LEGO Art makes it more expensive than the usual set, but it will interesting to see what else the design team is inspired to do now that non-mosaic models are on the table. 

One thing that hasn’t changed with 31206 The Rolling Stones is the inclusion of a soundtrack to listen to while you build, tailor-made to fit this build.
