LEGO Avatar: The Way of Water 2023 sets revealed

The LEGO Group has unveiled five new LEGO Avatar sets for James Cameron’s upcoming Avatar: The Way of Water, all of which are due to land on shelves in 2023.

Coming in at a wider range of price points than the first batch of LEGO Avatar sets, which were all anchored to the 2009 movie, this new wave draws exclusively on the second film. That means we don’t have much to compare it to at the minute, beyond concept art, trailers and promotional stills from the long-awaited return to Pandora.

At face value, though, these sets are a solid continuation of the wide variety of builds seen across the theme’s first wave, including vehicles, buildable animals, locations and colourful vegetation. There are also a bunch of fresh and familiar faces in the mix, including a whole host of new Na’vi minifigures – some of whom use standard and mid-sized legs, in contrast to the longer-legged characters in the first wave.

Check out all five of the new sets below, which start at just £19.99 / $24.99 / €24.99 – cheaper than any of the non-BrickHeadz sets in the first LEGO Avatar wave. They’ll be available to purchase from LEGO.com from January 1, 2023.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
