LEGO Batman video game publisher reportedly up for sale
Warner Bros. Games’ parent company is said to be considering a sale, a move that may have ramifications for the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
Multiple news sources have reported that Warner Bros. Discovery, the company that owns a number of media and entertainment outlets such as HBO, CNN, DC Studios and more, may well be shopping around for a new owner.
The BBC notes that ‘multiple parties’ have made unsolicited offers to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, with current Chief Executive David Zaslav stating that the company’s board is looking to identify the “best path … to unlock the full value of our assets”.

The move follows a rejected bid from Paramount Skydance on October 21, resulting in attention from a number of other potential buyers. Warner Bros. Discovery itself was formed in 2022 following the merger of WarnerMedia with Discovery Inc. in a $43 billion deal. However, that consolidation left the company with a large amount of debt, resulting in various creative projects being indefinitely shelved or completely abandoned, such as the unreleased Batgirl film.
The combined company then announced a major corporate restructuring in June 2025, splitting off Warner Bros. Games into its new Streaming and Studios division, to focus on four distinct franchises: Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter and the DC Universe.
The company’s interactive arm has been struggling in recent years, narrowing the scope of its focus and the number of releases on its slate. Fortunately, the upcoming LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight from TT Games appears to have avoided that cull, with the highly-anticipated title currently still on schedule for release sometime in 2026.

It’s too early to say whether or not the potential sale of Warner Bros. Discovery would have any immediate effect on the launch LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, but the parent company gaining new owners is probably unlikely to cause too much of an impact if the game were to drop within the next six months.
That date remains pure speculation on our part for now though, but the long-term ramifications for Warner Bros. Discovery and Warner Bros. Games could well affect the development of any future titles from TT Games further down the road, especially considering that the latter company no longer has an exclusive licence for LEGO video games.

when in the article they said this could affect the futur development of the futur tt lego games what does this mean that tt games could shutdown
If the game gets delayed because of this so be it cause I can barely afford any more games these days cause I have no job
This is more of a long-term concern. It’s extremely unlikely that a WBD sale would have a direct impact on this game. It’s set to release within a year, so even if a sale went through *today* and the new owners for some unthinkable reason decided it was their top priority to meddle with this, it’s very late for any major changes.
Realistically though, any sale would likely have some regulatory hurdles and might not even go through before this game drops, and if it does there’s several layers of management and corporate entities between TT Games and the top brass, so I wouldn’t expect any immediate impact.
in the article did they mean they are a risk that tt games could shutdown
