LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 live event announced
Hot on the heels of last night’s LEGO BrickLink Designer Program Series 7 livestream comes news of a live and in person reveal for Series 8’s finalists.
BrickLink Designer Program Series 8 is currently in the design phase, with submissions accepted from April 14 to 25. That’s apparently slightly earlier than originally planned, but with good reason: the LEGO Group has moved up the submission period to allow for an earlier reveal of the five finalists at Brickworld Chicago this summer, marking the first time a BrickLink Designer Program event has happened in front of a live audience.
BrickLink Designer Program Lead Alex Kastelic announced the event at the end of last night’s Series 7 finalists livestream, during which the LEGO Group revealed five new fan-designed sets that will be available to crowdfund in February 2026. The Series 8 reveal will take place at Brickworld Chicago on June 14, with exact timing to be confirmed at a later date.
“There’s a stage there where we can do livestreams and reveals and so that is what we will be doing,” Alex said. “The finalists will be announced live, in person, at Brickworld Chicago. We will also stream that out on our YouTube channel just like we are doing currently. But that will be very fun for us to do this in person, live, with a large audience.”
Alex also confirmed that the final designs and prices for Series 5’s five finalists, including The Thieves of Tortuga and Adventure in Transylvania, will be revealed on May 1, 2025. Crowdfunding for Series 5 of the BrickLink Designer Program gets underway on June 10 at 4pm BST.
