LEGO is bringing back a classic Adventurers character… sort of

The legacy of LEGO Adventurers seemingly lives on in the newest modular building, 10326 Natural History Museum, thanks to a familiar face…

The newly revealed 10326 Natural History Museum, the latest addition to the Modular Buildings Collection, is filled with exciting details to spot. However, you may have missed the outfit and facial hair of a certain minifigure. The curator sports a unique facial hair style, a pair of round glasses, a grey jacket and a red bow tie on a white shirt.

That might not sound immediately familiar unless you’re proficient in the knowledge of LEGO Adventurers.

Pair this with designer Chris McVeigh’s comments on this minifigure as mentioned in our new video for the modular building and it all lines up with Dr. Kilroy – a crucial member of the team that also consisted of Johnny Thunder and Pippin Reed from LEGO Adventurers. The character has become a memorable minifigure with multiple pseudonyms, including Dr. Charles Lightning and Professor Articus.

While it hasn’t been officially clarified that the curator and Dr. Kilroy are the same characters, the similarities suggest that this isn’t a coincidence, and it’s not like this outfit is a popular fashion statement in the minifigure world.

Assuming that Dr. Kilroy has taken up work as a museum curator, we can only hope that his friend the Infomaniac will stop by to peruse the many exhibits on display, as well as the other members of LEGO Adventurers.

Following his major role in LEGO Adventurers, as well as three LEGO video games, the life of a museum curator only makes sense for the seasoned explorer.

The outfit the curator wears is most similar to his appearance in 7415 Aero Nomad. Whether or not the features any specific references to LEGO Adventurers has yet to be seen, but the rooftop of 10326 Natural History Museum features an out-of-the-way office with at least one mystery printed tile.

You can pick up this familiar minifigure along with the rest of the massive modular building when 10326 Natural History Museum launches on December 1 for £259.99 / $299.99 / €299.99. However, pre-orders are open now for those who want to guarantee their copy.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
