LEGO building instructions should be even more accurate now
LEGO Graphic Designer Ashwin Visser has confirmed that some inconsistencies in the official building instructions should now be smoothed out.
Eagle-eyed LEGO builders might have noticed that some printed or stickered LEGO elements, including a clock and a computer screen, don’t quite match the image printed in the building instructions. While it’s usually straightforward enough to work out which piece is meant from context, the LEGO Group has taken steps to rectify the issue, as confirmed by Ashwin in a recent interview.
“There were a few graphics, maybe 15-20 in the entire portfolio, that had a refresh and are now always available throughout the portfolio,” explained Ashwin while speaking to Tiago Catarino. “It could be that we updated graphically but the building instructions were still the older one. I think that’s where the mismatch came from.
“We always try to keep it as close as possible to the original but there are some graphics that have been updated. The clock was one of them. It should be all updated now.”
The differences will only have been slight but, moving forward, the design refresh is now promised to be uniform across both actual elements and the corresponding instructions.
