LEGO celebrates Eid-al-Fitr with free holiday build
On one day only, LEGO Stores in the UK offer a free Eid-themed build for visitors to build and take away with them.
The first of the two major Muslim festivals, Eid-al-Fitr, falls after Ramadan, the period of fasting for Muslims around the world. In the UK, it’s expected to start on April 10 in 2024, but the LEGO Group is starting celebrations a little early in the UK, with a themed celebratory build. On April 6 between 10am and midday, you can make and take away a build of an Eid lantern, entirely for free.
The build itself is fairly simple, as with most of these seasonal events at LEGO Stores. It’s built on a grey base, with bright yellow and dark blue accents to depict the main body of the lamp and the ring used to hang it. The colourful windows that are typically seen on real-life lanterns are depicted with a bright yellow window element on every side.
You can only pick up the Eid lantern in participating UK stores and it’s worth noting that, although the event runs for two hours, the amount of free sets available depends on stock. Check for one near you here.
