LEGO VIP coins available now in Australia and New Zealand

Last year’s limited-edition LEGO VIP coins are now available to redeem once again in the VIP Rewards Centre in Australia and New Zealand.

All five of the collectible coins – four of which are themed around a retro LEGO line, including Space, Town, Castle and Pirates, and one of which is based on the classic minifigure coin accessory – sold out pretty much straight away when they launched last year, leaving plenty of fans clamouring for the LEGO Group to bring them back.

It promised to do so before the end of 2021, but ultimately failed to deliver on its word – if only by a few days. After Brick Fanatics queried the missing coins last week, the LEGO VIP team confirmed that all five of the coins (along with their holder) will return to the VIP Rewards Centre on January 11. If you’re reading this from Australia or New Zealand, that means they should be available right now.

The coins originally required the redemption of 1,150 points apiece last year, and it’s likely that they’ll cost the same this time round. You won’t be able to double up on any you’ve already claimed, unless supplies last longer than expected – but based on how quickly they sold out last time, don’t bank on it.

Here’s when the coins will be available in the rest of the world (all on January 11, 2021):

Japan – midnight local time
Korea – midnight local time
Europe – 10am GMT/11am CET
US and Canada – 9am EST

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
