Looks like LEGO plum forgot about bringing back the VIP coins
Remember the LEGO VIP coins? It looks like the LEGO Group doesn’t, because it completely failed to deliver on its promise to bring them back in 2021.
In the first half of last year, the LEGO VIP team rolled out a series of exclusive coins styled around retro themes, including Castle, Space, Pirates and Town. And pretty much all of them were snapped up almost instantly in the VIP Rewards Centre, leaving plenty of fans unhappy.
That apparently came as a shock to the VIP team, who told Brick Fanatics and other LEGO Ambassadors in May that the coins would return later in 2021, helping to combat the artificial scarcity that led to prices ballooning on the aftermarket.
“The intent is to [give a second chance to] people who tried really hard and didn’t get that opportunity, and now have that one hole in their collection,” Global VIP Program Director Jason Whiting said at the time. “The intent was never to [create] a situation where somebody was missing the thing that they wanted.”
A quick glance at the calendar shows the company has missed its own deadline, however, because we’re now firmly into 2022 – and there’s been no sign nor mention of the VIP coins since. We’ve reached out to the LEGO Group for an update, so keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for more.

All five of the VIP coins and the display case are up on the website now.
Good. Limited edition stuff should remain limited edition.
They’ll release them in their new paid VIP program
Yep frustrating. Particularly as I could have snapped one up the one I want at an inflated, but somewhat reasonal price on the after market however with them being re-released I opted against.
I’m still waiting
