Pick up a free LEGO TIE Interceptor polybag for May the 4th

Smyths Toys is giving away a free LEGO TIE Interceptor polybag to celebrate the 25th anniversary of LEGO Star Wars this May the 4th.

The brand new polybag set is a tiny recreation of the much larger Ultimate Collector Series 75382 TIE Interceptor, which will be available exclusively to LEGO Insiders from May 1 (and to everyone else from May 4) for £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99. If you can’t justify springing for the bigger ship or just want a cute little build to accompany it, you’ll want to head down to Smyths Toys.

The UK retailer is giving away copies of 30685 TIE Interceptor across stores nationwide from 9am on Saturday, May 4. You’ll probably need to find a younger relative to take with you, though (and then maybe buy them some other LEGO to sweeten the deal if you want to keep the polybag for yourself), as Smyths says it’s ‘one giveaway per child’. An adult rocking up on their own may not qualify.

LEGO Star Wars polybags are not always easy to come by in the UK, generally only appearing at events like this one or through select online retailers, so trying your luck at Smyths could be your best bet for now: just make sure to head down early, as the giveaway is strictly while stocks last.

The 48-piece 30685 TIE Interceptor follows January’s 30680 AAT, which will be free at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores from May 1 to 5 (or while stocks last) with LEGO Star Wars purchases above £35 / $40 / €40. Click here to check out all the LEGO May the 4th deals confirmed and rumoured so far.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
