LEGO Deadpool saga continues with new official minifigure debut

The saga of LEGO Deadpool and the lack of any new minifigure based on him continues with the debut of a brand-new official LEGO Deadpool.

While the LEGO Group seems to be averse to any new LEGO Deadpool representation, attitudes may be changing slowly but surely as a new official minifigure of the character has debuted in LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition. The latest LEGO Marvel special is out now on Disney+ and we’d advise sticking around until the credits. Be aware that spoilers for the special will follow.

The credits for the special have proven as entertaining as the main special itself and they feature a battle between She-Hulk and Deadpool, the latter of which uses a design not seen in any previous minifigure.

Notably, the legs and torso of this minifigure are new while the head is taken from San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Sheriff Deadpool exclusive minifigure. It might not be a sign of a new physical Deadpool, but it is the first sign of the character in LEGO Marvel in six years.

You won’t find the new LEGO Deadpool minifigure in any current or upcoming LEGO set at the time of writing though. They appear only in LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition. It’s still surprising to see the LEGO Group officially release a new Deadpool design in any form after he didn’t appear in LEGO Fortnite or 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion, despite one designer’s best attempts.

Also featured in the new LEGO Marvel Avengers: Mission Demolition special is Gambit, with the exact same minifigure design as in 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion. There are many LEGO Marvel sets rumoured for 2025 at the time of writing, but Deadpool isn’t part of the reported plans right now. Still, at least the LEGO Group is acknowledging Deadpool again.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.

Gambit’s design in the Disney+ special is much better; he had dual molded legs with blue boots.
