Blow up the balloons and pop on a party hat for our visual tour of the two newly-revealed LEGO Disney 100th anniversary sets.

The LEGO Disney 100 train just keeps rolling in 2023, with another two new additions to the roster joining an already-stacked list of celebratory sets and minifigures. Arriving on shelves in June are 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse and 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons, each taking a wildly different approach to wishing the House of Mouse a happy 100th birthday.

We’ve broken down everything there is to know about these two new sets below, rounding up our first impressions to help you decide whether to add one (or both) to your wish list this summer.

Unlike some of the more traditional castles that we might usually see mini-dolls with, 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse has a two story treehouse, as well as a nifty zip wire that links to a smaller cave with both a slide and a waterfall.

Leaning more on the display side of things, 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons has 12 8×8 plates that make up pictures of characters that can be placed in the larger frame, coming with an instruction booklet of 72 Disney designs that can be made and rearranged however you’d like.

We’re getting a whopping 13 mini-dolls with 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse, and notably there’s quite a few characters who will be getting their mini-doll debut.

Firstly we’ve got the first ever Alice in Wonderland mini-doll, with the LEGO Group bringing back her original minifigure hair piece. We’ve had a Pocahontas minifigure before but this is her first mini-doll version. Wendy from Peter Pan was in 43220 Peter Pan & Wendy’s Storybook Adventure, but this will be the first Wendy based on the 1953 film. 

Tinker Bell has had two minifigures prior to 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse, but this will also be her first appearance as a mini-doll, and she comes with a new plastic wing piece specially for the new set. Alongside those three new additions, we’ll also see Belle, Princess Jasmine, Mirabel, Moana, Mulan, Raya, Tiana, Anna and Elsa.

With 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons we get a Mickey Mouse minifigure, fitting for the theme, wearing some artsy overalls splattered with paint.

Most of the details for 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse lie in the features of the treehouse for the mini-dolls. We can see Belle on the rock-climbing wall, and there’s even a canoe with the set in case a relaxing boat ride is needed (on the box, we see Moana and Pocahontas doing just that). 

There’s also what looks like a telescope (although that particular part is not super clear) as well as a chest with a map, a nice reading corner, a mini smoothie bar, and even an archery range for weapons practice. We can also spot a geode-like gem piece and a magnifying glass.

43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons gives us some less obvious details, like Mickey holding a paintbrush and palette, as well as what looks like a printed Disney 100 plaque with a non-studded Mickey shaped piece.

The pieces that 43215 The Enchanted Treehouse use have been seen a few times in other sets, but are now in different colours to really match the theme. We’ve got some of the leaf pieces from 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell in a transparent pink, as well as one of the ice pieces from 71415 Ice Mario Suit and Frozen World Expansion Set. The highlight is the zip wire, which really makes the set stand out.

The pieces used in 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation are largely what we’ve seen before from LEGO DOTS, but the addition of the frames give the set a nice clean display appeal.

43215 The Enchanted Treehouse has a fairly easy display, with both sides of the set offering plenty of eye-catching details. It’s definitely more of a playset than a display piece, but no one ever said you can’t do both.

When looking at the display value of 43221 100 Years of Disney Animation Icons, it’s undoubtedly fantastic. The frame can be placed on the wall with ease, and the smaller frame would be perfect for a desk or a bookcase. And with the many customisation options available, it’s a great choice for showing off both your love for Disney and for LEGO.
