Three new LEGO Disney 100th anniversary sets revealed

The first images of three new LEGO Disney 100th anniversary sets have arrived online, revealing a trio of LEGO BrickHeadz double-packs of iconic Disney characters.

Update: All three of these sets have now been officially revealed here.

Presumably joining 40622 Disney 100th Celebration on shelves on February 1, or perhaps arriving alongside the rest of the March 1 LEGO sets, these three double-packs run the gamut from classic Disney animation to (relatively) modern Pixar movies. A single image for each set can be viewed through the LEGO Group’s certification portal, but they’re very low resolution, so details are difficult to make out.

We’ll hopefully see full, high-resolution pictures of all three of these sets – and learn their piece counts, prices and release date – very soon. For now, scroll down for the first look at 40619 EVE & WALL•E, 40620 Cruella & Maleficent and 40621 Moana & Merida.

40619 EVE & WALL•E

Price: TBC Pieces: TBC Release date: TBC

Combining two of Pixar’s best-loved characters from the 2008 film WALL•E, 40619 EVE & WALL•E presents a couple of slightly more unorthodox BrickHeadz. The eponymous waste-collecting robot sports what looks to be 2×2 BrickHeadz eyes, and should make for a great companion to LEGO Ideas’ 2015 set 21303 WALL•E.

40620 Cruella & Maleficent

Price: TBC Pieces: TBC Release date: TBC

Presented in a box labelled ‘Disney Villains’, 40620 Cruella & Maleficent pairs 101 Dalmations baddie Cruella de Vil with Sleeping Beauty antagonist Maleficent. The latter character has had ample representation in LEGO sets over the years already, but this is the LEGO Group’s first take on the puppy-napper.

40621 Moana & Merida

Price: TBC Pieces: TBC Release date: TBC

The final LEGO Disney BrickHeadz 100th anniversary double-pack features two of the House of Mouse’s strongest female characters in 40621 Moana & Merida. The former of course hails from her animated film of the same name, while you’ll recognise Merida from Pixar’s 2012 movie Brave. Their hair alone should make both these characters fun to build.

Keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for updates on all three of these newly-revealed LEGO Disney 100th anniversary BrickHeadz sets.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
