LEGO DREAMZzz UK streaming platforms confirmed

The LEGO Group has confirmed the UK streaming platforms for the first 10 episodes of the LEGO DREAMZzz TV show, which will debut three months ahead of the initial wave of sets.

Celebrity guests, journalists and their families were in attendance for the UK premiere of LEGO DREAMZzz in London yesterday, which featured an interactive walkthrough of Mateo and Izzie’s bedroom, a confession booth in which guests could reveal their zaniest dreams, and a life-sized brick-built recreation of Z-Blob. The LEGO Group debuted the first two episodes of the show at the event, and confirmed exactly where you’ll be able to catch the entire series in the UK.

As well as streaming directly on the official LEGO YouTube channel, the first 10 episodes of LEGO DREAMZzz will premiere on Prime Video, Netflix, ITVX and Sky Kids from 5pm UK time on May 15. You can pretty much take your pick from whichever streaming services you’re signed up to, which is a very deliberate move by the LEGO Group – and will apparently be echoed worldwide.

“We really have adopted a strategy of trying to get this story out as far and wide as we possibly can,” said the LEGO Group’s Head of Entertainment Development Keith Malone. “Other times when we’ve released a series, we have major partners that carry [it], or Netflix has asked for everything exclusively. For this particular series, we have retained the rights to spread it as far and wide as we possibly can, including the internet.

“So we will have all of the major broadcast partners, streaming platforms have all acquired the series, but we also have the rights to make sure in regions where one of the broadcast partners may not be so [present] that we have the ability to share it with everyone.”

The first wave of LEGO DREAMZzz sets will follow on August 1, along with 10 more episodes of the TV show. The series will then continue in 2024, when we’ll presumably see a second wave of LEGO products.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
