LEGO experts rate the UCS Death Star: here’s how it scores
The UCS Death Star is looming into view over on Brick Search, where LEGO experts across the community have rated the record-breaking set. Here’s how it scores…
Reviews of 75419 Death Star have been landing online for the past couple of weeks, and early reactions to the 9,023-piece set are basically all over the place. Some have praised it for its ‘wow-factor scale’, quantity of minifigures and building experience, while others have criticised its details, price and the ‘exhausting endurance challenge’ presented across its 80-something bags of parts.
You’ll find a snapshot of those reviews all in one place on LEGO set collecting app Brick Search right now, as 75419 Death Star is the latest set to join Brick Score. This brand new section brings together expert voices from across the community, complete with at-a-glance verdicts on the latest and most interesting sets, along with individual scores, links to written reviews and embedded video reviews you can watch directly in the app.

It’s the place to go to find the critical consensus on the latest sets, including 75419 Death Star – which has managed a respectable, if not incredible, Brick Score of 73 out of 100. That’s not terrible, but it’s also probably not what you’d hope for from a set that will retail for £899.99 / $999.99 / €999.99 (making it the most expensive LEGO set to date).
Dig down into the individual scores, and you’ll find a wide range of opinions that have contributed to its overall Brick Score. Some critics have given the Death Star glowing reviews, such as Stud City, who says it ‘captures the essence of the Death Star better than any previous attempt’. Hoth Bricks, on the other hand, says it’s ‘not the creative and luxury Star Wars celebration the €1,000 retail price is supposed to provide’.

As well as adding the Death Star to Brick Score, complete with unique summaries for each verdict provided by its author, the Brick Search team have also taken an even more extensive look at the set’s reviews in a new post on the app’s homepage. If you don’t have time to read or watch every individual review, that’s the place to find instant reactions to its price, minifigures, display value, build and more.
