LEGO fans are taking Fantastic Four builds into their own hands

With the dearth of LEGO Fantastic Four sets, LEGO fans are taking it into their own hands, thanks to a recent Insiders reward.

While fans were not enthused about 76316 Fantastic Four vs. Galactus Construction Figure, hoping for more from the minifigures, the beauty of LEGO is that if you don’t like a set, you can always create something yourself. One redditor has done just that, turning 40789 Flying Moon Car into the iconic Fantasticar. The general paint job and shape were already there, so it only takes a few tweaks to get right.

Reddit user Rexify has laid out exactly how to do it, with detailed pictures to be found on the post itself. The rebuild uses a free extra parts outside of the set, including black 2×2 plates, six stud, tan slopes and thrusters, 1×2 round plate, and some baby blue slopes. You can see the end result in the third picture below.

The blue is lighter than usually used for the Fantasticar and there are some minor details that differ. Thankfully, if you want an even more accurate build, there’s a custom build on Rebrickable – although you’ll need to buy all of the parts for that, estimated to cost around £16.

To try it out for yourself, 40759 Flying Moon Car is still available as an Insiders reward in the Rewards Centre, redeemable for 2,500 Insiders points. Once you’ve got your code, you’ll need to add it to another LEGO.com order for it to ship out.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
