LEGO for Adults 10290 Pickup Truck available now

10290 Pickup Truck – the first unlicensed LEGO Creator Expert vehicle – is finally available to purchase at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores.

It feels like forever since the LEGO for Adults set was first revealed back in July, but 10290 Pickup Truck is now live both online and in-store. Weighing in at 1,677 pieces for £119.99 / $129.99 / €129.99, the dark red truck is the latest vehicle in a subtheme that also includes 10265 Ford Mustang and 10295 Porsche 911.

It’s also the first of those large-scale cars not to be based on a specific, real-world vehicle, although it does carry all the hallmarks of plenty of real 1950s-style pickups, with features including opening doors, removable wooden railings and a step-side bed.

It’s technically also a seasonal set, insofar as its included mini-builds can set the scene for a year-round display. Among those accessories are a watering can, a crate of pumpkins and a festive wreath, enabling 10290 Pickup Truck to stay relevant on your shelf no matter the time of year.

This is also the third large-scale vehicle to land on shelves in 2021, following 10295 Porsche 911 and 10279 Volkswagen T2 Camper Van, in what’s turned out to be a bumper year for the LEGO for Adults (formerly Creator Expert) brand.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
