LEGO Fortnite K-Pop Demon Hunters stokes the fire for sets

LEGO Fortnite’s introduction of K-Pop Demon Hunters emotes and skins has fanned the flames for sets even higher.

It’s clear that there’s fan demand for LEGO sets based on the hit Netflix movie K-Pop Demon Hunters, having already sent a fan-designed LEGO set past 10,000 supporters less than two months after the film’s release date. It was endorsed by the movie’s director and it’s not like LEGO Ideas hasn’t already dipped its toe into the world of K-pop, with 21339 BTS Dynamite bringing one of the world’s biggest real-life bands in the genre.

Now, we are actually getting LEGO K-Pop Demon Hunters – just not physically. The characters have made it into Fortnite, including LEGO-fied skins and emotes in LEGO Fortnite. Safe to say, fans can’t contain their excitement.

Commenters on the TikTok shared above echo the poster’s excitement, with EGonz commenting: “This is exactly how I imagine LEGO is going to do K-Pop Demon Hunters…”

It’s brought the attention back on the would-be LEGO set as well, with one X user writing: “Okkkk so now we need K-Pop Demon Hunter LEGO sets.”

“Give it until the sequel comes out and I guarantee we’ll have some real-life LEGO sets for it,” asserted schwiftydude47 on reddit. With a sequel thought to be happening but details not yet confirmed, that could give the LEGO Group enough time to approve and work on a set – but it would likely take some speedy collaboration between the company and Netflix to get it done. Presumably Netflix will want to capitalise on the first movie’s success and bring out a sequel quickly, if an agreement with Sony can be made.

With fan designer Aggravator’s K-Pop Demon Hunters: The Tiger and the Three-Eyed Crow now under review with the LEGO Ideas team, we’re still quite a way away from getting confirmation on whether or not it will become a LEGO Ideas set – especially considering it’s the biggest review round ever. Be patient, Hunters…

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
