LEGO Fortnite finally takes inspiration from in-game kits
LEGO Fortnite’s kits are finally the subject of a physical set with a surprising level of accuracy that opens the door for some other useful kits.
LEGO Kits debuted in Fortnite just over a year ago, and their appearances in the item shop have been more limited than expected. Despite some mixed early reactions to the kits, it’s taken a year, but the LEGO Group has finally taken inspiration from the purchasable bundles for a physical LEGO set.
77076 Durrr Burger Restaurant depicts the recognisable fast food franchise from Fortnite’s canon, using the Durrr Burger Bundle LEGO Kit as a foundation and even the structure of the set is designed to be built as you would make a Durrr Burger restaurant digitally.
By placing columns and windows in any desired configuration on a foundation, 77076 Durrr Burger Restaurant is as customisable and modular as it would be in the game.
Beyond the exterior and structure, 77076 Durrr Burger Restaurant takes specific inspiration from the Durrr Burger LEGO Kits through furnishings, too.
Everything from the menu to the main sign to the Durrr Burger umbrellas has been recreated and included in the set at a smaller scale, but it’s an undoubtedly commendable effort from the LEGO Fortnite design team, one year after the LEGO Kits debuted.
The other LEGO Kits that have launched since this time last year include some for a farm, Spider-Man, a haunted house, the beach, Pirates, Castle and Star Wars. Whether any of these will inspire future LEGO Fortnite sets is unknown.
For now, 77076 Durrr Burger Restaurant launches alongside the other two of the other three new LEGO Fortnite sets on June 1, while 77078 Mecha Team Leader is being saved for August 1.
