LEGO Fortnite’s Halloween includes free items and The Nightmare Before Christmas

LEGO Fortnite’s Halloween plans are now underway, including four new LEGO Islands, free items and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

As detailed in an announcement earlier this week, Fortnitemares is now underway including an event in LEGO Fortnite and across four LEGO Islands. We’ve had a look at exactly what you can expect in-game, including some free rewards that you can earn.

Spooky LEGO Islands

A series of four LEGO Islands are coming to Fortnite throughout October, the first of which is based on LEGO DREAMZzz and is available now under the name Chasers vs Hunters. The other three islands include LEGO Monster Fishing on October 17, LEGO Parkour Worlds on October 24 and LEGO Dark Space on October 30.

They all seem to loosely tie in to the Halloween season and all artwork for these islands so far includes a cube-shaped entity. You can encounter this creature in the first island now and some players who have defeated are finding the first part of a code, including baconbitz_ on Reddit who has discovered that they are called Monoliths.

It seems likely that the other three parts of this code will be featured in the next two LEGO Islands in the series, to unlock content in the last of these islands. That’s only speculation for now but we’d also point out that these Monoliths are featured in the latest batch of content for players to use in their LEGO Islands.

It’s worth noting that unlockable content is confirmed for this series of spooky LEGO Islands. The press release confirms that anyone who finishes the Dark Space island before November 13 will unlock the Dark Studies and Eternal Restlessness Decor Bundles. This doesn’t seem likely to require a code to unlock though according to the wording.

One more physical LEGO Fortnite model

CraftyPlaysLF and their community may have discovered what you can unlock with this code as a familiar build has appeared on Pick a Brick. A page for a 160-piece Monolith build has been found on the service and you can even order the elements and access the instructions now.

It could also be that this build simply ties into the October 2024 LEGO Islands and that the code will unlock something else as the mystery continues to develop. Don’t forget that earlier this month the first four LEGO Fortnite sets launched too, including 77073 Battle Bus with nine exclusive minifigures.

A new LEGO Pass

The Brick or Treat LEGO Pass is now live and you’ll need to complete quests and earn studs to finish the free track as well as the paid range of rewards. You’ll need to part with 1,400 V-Bucks to earn the bottom track of rewards, including the Andy Fangerson outfit and LEGO Style.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

A bumper bundle of cosmetics inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas is now available with two outfits featuring corresponding LEGO Styles for 3,400 V-Bucks. They join Jack Skellington, who has not returned to the shop to join Sally and the Pumpkin King.

LEGO Fortnite decor items and builds are available based on the iconic film too for 1,800 V-Bucks in a bundle. This times nicely with the relatively recent release of 21351 The Nightmare Before Christmas too.

Free Fortnitemares rewards

By earning experience and completing quests, you can grab some free Fortnite cosmetics during Fortnitemares including an emote that you can use in LEGO Fortnite too. These will be available for just over two weeks from the time of writing.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
