LEGO Harry Potter 76420 Triwizard Tournament: The Black Lake stays true to hilarious on-set detail
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has long been laughed at for the epic length of all the male teenagers’ hair – and an upcoming LEGO Harry Potter set has captured the look perfectly.
The LEGO Harry Potter designers routinely jump between films, so it’s no surprise that the 2023 wave that was recently revealed covers different films, including the Goblet of Fire. This era of Harry Potter minifigure is characterised by longer hair, highlighting Daniel Radcliffe’s own journey through puberty.
76420 Triwizard Tournament: The Black Lake doesn’t just feature Harry’s shoulder-length hair, but also Ron’s. Both boys have sweeping locks that have been poked at by fans of the films for years, as well as the actors themselves.
“There were some awkward stages, for sure,” Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, told Dax Shephard on his Armchair Expert With Dax Shepard podcast. “My hair in film four is one of my biggest regrets. Shoulder length. I think everyone actually had a phase of having this really long hair. They liked it – it was kind of wizard-y. We went through our puberty on camera. You kind of see it all. It is very cringe-y.”
No matter how ‘cringe-y’ it might be to look back on, it’s an endearing detail for many fans that is fun to see replicated in LEGO elements. 76420 Triwizard Tournament: The Black Lake is one of six sets set up for release in March, 2023, as detailed below.
