The latest LEGO rumours include word of a new Harry Potter promotional set and an update on the X-Files gift-with-purchase, both with reported names.
Rumours shared by a.clay.brick via BrickTap on Reddit claim that we can expect at least one more gift-with-purchase later this year. It’s believed that 40901 Microscale Hogwarts may tie in with the rumoured 76476 Ministry of Magic previously rumoured for September.
We typically see one Harry Potter gift-with-purchase every year to coincide with September’s Back to Hogwarts event, but they are rarely limited to a single set. You can usually pick them up with LEGO Harry Potter models over a certain price threshold.
Whether that will be the case for the rumoured 40901 Microscale Hogwarts is not clear. The previous takes on a microscale Hogwarts include the 67-piece 30435 Build Your Own Hogwarts Castle and 76419 Hogwarts Castle and Grounds at 2,660 pieces. It would be interesting to see something in the middle of these two.
Also rumoured this morning from the source is 40896 The X-Files: Scully’s Lab. It is said to be linked to the previously-21369 The X-Files LEGO Ideas set claimed to be released in August. LEGO Ideas gifts-with-purchase are more uncommon than others, usually only released for major models.
