LEGO House exclusive set to go on sale at LEGO.com this week

The LEGO Group is bringing a LEGO House-exclusive set back to its official online store this week, where it will be available to purchase in select regions.

Three sets otherwise sold exclusively at the LEGO Group’s interactive attraction in Billund, Denmark were briefly available to purchase online at the beginning of the pandemic, including 21037 LEGO House, 40366 LEGO House Dinosaurs and 4000026 Tree of Creativity. The trio of dinos – all built with System bricks, but representing the Masterpiece Gallery’s giant DUPLO, System and Technic dinosaurs – will now once again be available to purchase from October 20.

Just as in 2020, however, 40366 LEGO House Dinosaurs will only be available in the UK, Ireland and Denmark. That’s because the set’s packaging and instructions were originally designed with the intention of being sold exclusively at the LEGO House, and as such only meet the legal requirements for specific countries – preventing the LEGO Group from making it more widely available.

The company has not yet confirmed how much 40366 LEGO House Dinosaurs will cost, but it originally retailed for £74.99 at LEGO.com in 2020. There are no guarantees the 865-piece set will remain at that price – particularly with one eye on the LEGO Group’s wider price increases – but it should still be cheaper than buying it through BrickLink, where it’s currently listed at an average price of £127 new.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
