If you’ve ever wanted to work in Billund, now’s your chance: the LEGO House is looking for a Junior Master Builder to support model development, run masterclasses and network with fans.
The full-time role requires ‘exceptional creativity, technical skill, and a deep knowledge of the LEGO building system’, as you might expect. But there’s more to being a Junior Master Builder than just clicking two bricks together – at the LEGO House, the right candidate will also be expected to represent the attraction at fan events and internal tours, consult on event and experience development, and communicate face-to-face with guests.
It still sounds like an entry-level position, all things considered: the job listing describes it as ‘an apprentice-like role’, in which individual creativity will need to be balanced against fulfilling briefs, accepting input from interested parties and learning the ins and outs of the LEGO brand. As well as nurturing relationships with the people you’re building models for, you’ll also need to ‘practice an open and authentic relationship with the fan community’.

The listing describes that as one of the major challenges of the role, and in particular being able to distinguish between ‘reasonable requests and unreasonable ones’ from the community. To succeed, you’ll need demonstrable experience of building with LEGO bricks (no prizes for guessing that one) and involvement in model development processes. Above all, you need ‘a clear passion for kids and the LEGO fan community’.
Other key skills include time management, coping with high workloads, technical knowledge of LEGO elements and materials, and a collaborative approach. In return, you’ll get family care leave, life and disability insurance, access to wellbeing programs, a ‘generous’ staff discount on LEGO sets, bonuses and the opportunity for hybrid working.
