LEGO Icons 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr shines in new mini movie
A new official mini animated movie shines a spotlight on the recently released LEGO Icons 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr.
Leading the pack as one of the most highly-desirable LEGO sets released on June 1, 2024 has to be 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr. The 5,471-piece model stands over 83cm in height, comes with 10 minifigures and is the perfect companion to the equally impressive 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell.
To celebrate the arrival of 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr (exclusively for Insiders until June 4), the LEGO Group and Warner Bros. Entertainment have joined forces to create a new brick-built animated mini movie, one that’s almost as epic as Peter Jackson’s cinematic trilogy.
The almost four minute long film dashes through the events of TLOTR to the climactic battle at Mount Doom and features nearly all of the minifigures included with 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr, plus the iconic location itself, complete with the Eye of Sauron.
Also glimpsed in the short movie are minifigures from past LEGO The Lord of the Rings sets, such as Gandalf the White and Aragorn, as well as 40693 The Lord of the Rings: Fell Beast, a GWP that was available with 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr, but is already out of stock.
The animated film appears to have been created for the LEGO Group and Warner Bros. Entertainment by Digital Wizards Studios and OnBeatMan Animation Studios, both of whom have worked on numerous previous fan-made LEGO movies.
10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr is available for Insiders to purchase now, with the LEGO Icons set priced at £399.99 / $459.99 / €459.99. Everyone else will be able pick up the massive model from June 4 and you can check out our full review of the Middle-earth build right here.
