LEGO Icons sets are getting more affordable year by year
There’s a hopeful trend in the first five years of LEGO Icons that seems to be continuing into 2025 according to rumours – more affordable models.
Rumours for LEGO Icons in early 2025 include a surprisingly affordable selection of sets, based on what the theme has seen previously. This new report comes from Instagram user lego_minecraft_goat with seven sets currently rumoured between January and May, as well as one with a mystery release month at the time of writing.
There are no names for these builds just yet, but piece counts and prices are rumoured and while you might not be overwhelmed by many of the part counts compared to the prices, there is a revelation for LEGO Icons in this rumoured list – the theme is getting more affordable. Everything on the list so far is under $100 with many of the models being under $50. That’s not common for LEGO Icons and it’s only what is rumoured for the first five months (aside from the mystery build).

Compared to what we’ve seen from LEGO Icons every year since 2020, your bank account might be getting a bit of a break early next year, at least as far as LEGO Icons is concerned.
Looking at the state of set pricing since LEGO Icons’ start in 2020 to what is rumoured for 2025, the increase of the theme’s annual portfolio is balanced with an increase in less expensive sets, though there are still builds that will hugely impact your yearly budget – make no mistake.
LEGO Icons set pricing since 2020
| Price range | 2020 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 | 2025 (rumoured) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| $50 or less | 0 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 5 | 5 |
| $51 to $100 | 2 | 5 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 3 |
| $101 to $150 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| $151 to $200 | 0 | 5 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 0 |
| $201 to $250 | 1 | 0 | 1 | 3 | 1 | 0 |
| $251 to $300 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 2 | 0 |
| $301 to $350 | 0 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| $351 to $400 | 0 | 0 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| $401 to $450 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| $451 to $500 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
| $501 and above | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Here’s that data visualised in a chart. You’ll notice that 2024 and 2025 have the most sets under $100 overall.

While the likes of 10333 The Lord of the Rings: Barad-dûr and 10316 The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell are clearly on the expensive side, it’s also true that LEGO Icons has embraced smaller, more affordable sets that don’t skip on any detail in the past few years. Many of these have been part of the LEGO Botanical Collection.
According to rumours, 2025 is going to be a great year for affordable LEGO Icons sets. The number of models costing $50 or less is already rumoured to be on par with all of 2024 (so far) but the rumours only cover the first five months. More expensive models likely aren’t going anywhere but the theme is slowly but surely becoming more balanced than it was when it first started.
Take all rumours with caution but there may be reason for your bank account to be optimistic ahead of next year.
