LEGO Ideas first 2023 review starts with Harry-Potter-inspired Dr. Seuss project
The third 2022 LEGO Ideas review only just closed but already the first 2023 review has its initial project, recreating the worlds of Dr Seuss’ stories.
LegoFan_506 is back in a LEGO Ideas review following their original Mexico City submission in 2017 thanks to their Dr. Seuss and LEGO project.
Taking inspiration from the Hogwarts Moments collection of folding books from LEGO Harry Potter, that concept has been reworked for Dr. Seuss stories with builds for How The Grinch Stole Christmas, The Lorax and Cat in the Hat proposed, complete with their respective covers.
Inside, the contents unfold to form a scene based on each book with minifigures too. These include the Grinch, The Cat in the Hat, Thing 1, The Lorax, The Once-ler as well as some traditional minifigure in place of other characters.
The book design of the Hogwarts Moments sets lends itself well to Dr. Seuss and with these models seemingly paused and all sets since retired to make way for the new banner builds in March, there may be a chance for this project without competing with an existing product line. However, that’s not official and this submission is still only up for consideration upon the end of the review period.
This is the first and only project in the first 2023 review so far, but more will surely follow soon…
