LEGO Ideas contest may result in multiple new GWPs

Another LEGO Ideas contest is now underway, asking for outdoor builds that will eventually result in a new gift-with-purchase.

The LEGO Ideas team regularly hosts contests on the platform to create new gifts-with-purchase. Today, they’ve added the Rebuilding Outdoor Adventures challenge to that list. The brief is for users to submit custom models that depict a childhood moment or personal memory based on the great outdoors.

All submissions must be between 200 and 250 elements, and cover absolutely no intellectual property or logos. You also cannot recreate existing LEGO sets; everything must be original. This contest will consist of a fan vote to determine the winners after a smaller selection of 15 projects is picked by a review board. The fan vote will take place from May 12, and the winners will be announced on May 27.

Notably, this challenge will have a grand prize selection, instead of just one winner. This suggests that we may see multiple gifts-with-purchase come from this contest, but that is not confirmed.

The grand prize package, as well as becoming an official set and receiving 10 complimentary copies of that model, includes 21353 The Botanical Garden, 21366 Floating Sea Otters, 21368 Peanuts: Snoopy’s Doghouse, 21376 Orange Cat and 60454 Holiday Adventure Camper Van.

All models in the fan vote not picked for a gift-with-purchase will receive just 21366 Floating Sea Otters, 21368 Peanuts: Snoopy’s Doghouse and 60454 Holiday Adventure Camper Van. You have until April 16 to submit your entries to this contest, and you can do so on the official webpage.

There are three varied LEGO gifts-with-purchase currently in production from the LEGO Ideas team. We will have to see how many more join that list as a result of this challenge.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
