Science-focused LEGO Ideas fan designer is back in the 10K Club for the second time

A LEGO fan designer has had a second project make it past 10,000 supporters – with designs focused on the same science-based theme.

Fan designer Brick Science16476 has had their second project make it past 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas, coming in the form of Science Lab Kit. The set includes a working centrifuge (that spins rapidly when you flip the red switch on the front,) a test tube holder with LEGO rubber pieces to hold the tubes in place, and a bunsen burner with a working flame control knob.

The builds appear to be to scale with how they would appear in real life, with the designer noting that they “designed each part of this Lab Kit to look like the real counterparts would,” although the centrifuge is smaller than it usually would be.

There are plenty of play features included as well, with the centrifuge able to spin using a battery box and a single PF motor and the burner featuring a mechanism that pushes the flame up and down – or ‘on’ and ‘off.’

Before this, Brick Science16476’s LEGO Microscope entered the final review round of 2023 but was ultimately not picked up. For Science Lab Kit to succeed, it will have to compete with 21 other projects, all listed below.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
