LEGO Ideas fan designer aims to change hearts and minds
The designer of the latest LEGO Ideas project to make it past 10,000 supporters has wholesome motivations with their set.
The aptly named LEGO Ideas user spiderdude has gained 10,000 votes on Jumping Spiders, a 1,049-piece set split across three models, each one depicting a different species of jumping spider: Caerulean-blue Peacock Spider (Maratus Caeruleus); Peckhamia .sp; and Bold Jumping Spider (Phidippus Audax).
“The aim of this project is to help encourage people to learn more about these cool and fascinating creatures,” wrote spiderdude in the description for the project. “Spiders aren’t as scary as you may think. We can turn fear into fascination.”

The three models are not to scale with one another and feature posable limbs. Each one has its own unique features and shapes, including their colours, pincers, and other spidery characteristics.
Jumping Spiders becomes the second project in the second LEGO Ideas 2025 review round, which has only just started this week. Check out the details of the two sets so far below.

Oh, that is fantastic. Or “amazing,” I guess. 🙂
There are some lovely spiders and spider-machines in the Lego portfolio, but there’s always room for more!
Here’s hoping the lads make it through.
